SLAT MATERIAL.
All Tucson Rolling Shutter slats are made of roll formed aluminum that
is injected with insulating foam. This foam core reduces the
conduction of heat, cold and sound passing thought the slat. The
outer finish is powder coated with a textured, baked on enamel
coating that resists abrasion.
 
DIFFERENT DENSITIES.
The slats come standard in normal density foam or can be
injected with high density foam for added strength and protection.
Additionally, we can special order an extruded aluminum slat for
maximum strength and security. The AR/44 is standard on most
applications and the AR/55 is used for patio or wide applications.
SCREEN
MATERIAL. The best products need to have the best fabric
available this is why we use the vinyl coated fiberglass sunscreen
offered by 3G Mermet. For 56 years 3G Mermet has perfected the
weaving of glassfiber into fabrics.
WHY FIBERGLASS?
Pound for pound fiberglass is
stronger
than steel
and it resists rotting
and mildew.
The material also has a commercial fire classification because it
resists heat and is non-combustible.
This is important because we want our screen to absorb heat keeping
it off your window or door.

All of our
products have customized controls. From simple manual, to
convenient electric, to entirely automatic operation, you choose the
level of convenience that matches your lifestyle.
ELECTRIC
rolling shutters and retractable screens have self-contained motors
that can be operated with wall-mounted switches, key-operated
switches, or hand-held remote controls. Electric shutters can also
have manual override options for emergency use in case of power
failure.

build the SunFix® electronics into the motor. Somfy took it one more
step and added radio remote control making the system even more user
friendly. Homeowners like the convenience of the wireless one touch

SunFix® motor and handheld transmitters
MANUAL OPERATORS
Manual operation for rolling shutters include pull strap, crank
strap and crank wand. The strap operators are best where security is
not a top concern because they cannot be used with our Blocksur
security feature. Crank wands have gears that ‘lock’ the shutter in
the down position using the BlockSur.
Pull straps
require you to pull on the strap to bring the shutter up & down.
Crank straps uses the same strap as the pull that goes into a
box and you crank a handle attached to the box to bring the unit up
and down.
Crank wands
are long handles held with both hands and turned to raise and lower
the shutter. This crank is also used in conjunction with the
electric on the manual override units.
